Upcoming Show: 'Animal House' at Black Moth Tattoo and Gallery – September 2025

Set of 4 Dog Prints

I’m thrilled to announce my upcoming solo show, “Animal House,” opening this September at Black Moth Tattoo and Gallery! The exhibit will run for the entire month, and I couldn’t be more excited to fill the space with some of my favorite creatures—from a group of assorted 'Business Men' to a Pig teaching menagerie of students.

Miss Piggy's Class An original anthropomorphic painting

“Animal House” is a joyful celebration of the animal kingdom as seen through a whimsical lens. The show will feature a curated collection of both my whimsical and anthropomorphic animal art, each piece inviting you into a world that’s equal parts playful, heartfelt, and a little unexpected.

A Peek Into the Menagerie
If you’re already familiar with my work, you know I tend to blur the lines between imagination and reality. Some of the paintings in Animal House highlight animals as they are—soft fur, watchful eyes, moments of quiet mischief. Others go a step further, dressing up their subjects in overcoats, habits, and the occasional top hat. These anthropomorphic animals take on new roles: accountants, elementary school teachers, suffragettes, and the occasional nun.

What connects them all is a sense of story—of capturing not just what an animal looks like, but how it feels to know them. Every painting is its own little narrative, and Animal House is where all those characters come to live together under one roof.

Why "Animal House"?
The name is a nod to the beautiful chaos of a home filled with furry (or feathery) personalities—but also to the idea that animals, whether real or imagined, can bring warmth, humor, and wisdom into our lives. This show is a cozy invitation to see animals not just as subjects of art, but as soulful, sometimes silly companions in our shared story.
